About The Role
Introduction and overall purpose of the role

OCS is looking for a Cleaning Supervisor able to manager cleaning services in a educational environment. The right candidate will also be responsible for other soft services provided by OCS (via subcontractors) withing the portfolio. The role is an Area Cleaning Supervisor in charge of a cluster of 4 buildings (colleges) within the University of The Arts London Contract. Covering areas such as Wimbledon, Chelsea, Lime Grove and Archwood in London. A dynamic and positive induvial with previous experience in cleaning supervision of a small/medium size multi sites team and able to communicate in either Spanish or Portuguese as well as English.

You will be working Monday to Friday but flexibility is required. The working hours are 05:30 to 13:30, 37.5 hours per week

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role

  • To assist Facilities Services in ensuring implementation of OCS Policies.
  • To support the management of Timegate processes and ensure CCF's are maintained in line with leavers, starters and the flexing demands of the business. Ensure contractor hours are accurate, up to date and within budget
  • Completing arbitrations on Timegate daily, weekly and checking end of month reports before cut off pay run date, cross checking the information is correct with site supervisors, timesheets on site, recoding staff annual leave and sickness appropriately so that payments are correct.
  • To ensure that a safe working environment is maintained through compliance with all company health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide an overarching strategy to effective quality assurance within Domestics and Soft FM services. Ensure OCS are compliant with legislation and operating within SOP's.
  • To operate within the company core values which are all underpinned by the ethical values of honesty, humility, integrity, respect, transparency, and trust. To deal with all Employee Relations issues as they arrive in an efficient timely manner, seeking advice, as necessary.
  • Ensure appropriate level of staff/ operative levels are in line with contract specification.
  • Visibility on the shop floor driving consistent OCS's professional image through praise and challenging uniform, behaviours, and quality.
  • Support in the delivery of duty manager role within the management pool.
  • Create and deliver on monthly performance or project reports in a timely manner.
  • Carry out any reasonable instruction as directed by your direct line manager, OCS Contract Director and/or OCS Area Director

Educational Level

  • Good standard of general education
  • Specialist knowledge within cleaning services
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel
  • Ability to speak to all personnel irrespective of grade. Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to write professional communications maintaining a professional image for staff and end service users.



Professional Qualifications required for the job- (particularly for compliance purposes or technical requirements of the role)

  • Completion of a NVQ Level 3 in supervisory or undertake and accomplish an equivalent (Desired) qualification.
  • First Aid Trained (Desired)
  • BICSc Accredited Qualification (Desired)

    Experience -previous experience -desirable/essential for technical competence of the role
  • Experience of working in a busy public sector and/or education environment & ability to be flexible in approach to working times to meet with the needs of the business. Working 5 over 7 days and changing working patterns.
  • To have experience in the Supervisory role
  • To have a technical knowledge of cleaning procedures, cleaning equipment.
  • To have worked alongside other departments in a supervisory role
  • IT Literate.
  • Driving Licence Personal Characteristics/Attributes
  • Excellent communication skills, of both written and verbal English.
  • To be smartly presented and be polite at all times.
  • Ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
  • IT Literate.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Proactive/Can do attitude.
