About the team
Their Clinical Negligence team represent clients who have experienced any instance of substandard medical treatment that causes injury or an existing condition to worsen. Their expert solicitors specialise in claims relating to brain injury, cerebral palsy and birth injuries. Examples of successful compensation awarded include more than £30 million for lifelong care for a boy starved of oxygen at birth and £13 million for an adult with a spinal injury due to substandard care.
About the role
They have an opportunity for a Solicitor (0-4 years PQE) to join the team to assist cases and to assist the firm in achieving its stated professional and commercial objectives.
Person Specification
- Newly qualified - 4 years post qualification, with experience in clinical negligence.
- Demonstrable knowledge and an interest in medicine and clinical negligence law.
- Demonstrable knowledge in conduct of cases from initial advice through to trial.
- An understanding of calculating losses in Schedule of Loss.
- Experience in dealing sensitively with clients and experts, providing solutions, and managing difficult situations and conversations.
- Solid experience in using a variety of IT packages (MS Word, Excel, Case Management Systems and Outlook).
- Substantial experience in working and contributing to a team environment.
- Relevant litigation experience gained within a claimant Firm, though not essential will be highly desirable.
