At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.
Cancer Research UK are looking for a Clinical Operations Manager with strong leadership and people management skills to join their Centre for Drug Development.
The Cancer Research UK Centre for Drug Development (CDD) is the world's only charity-funded drug development facility. Our pioneering research is driven purely by the goal to see scientific breakthroughs bring benefits to patients sooner. CDD is the sponsor of early phase and precision medicine clinical trials in oncology agents. Our broad portfolio rivals that of a medium-sized pharmaceutical company, spanning antibodies, cell therapies, vaccines, drug conjugates and small molecules, making this an interesting and dynamic area to work in.
As a Clinical Operations Manager you will, lead and line manage a team of Clinical Research Associates (CRAs) within the Clinical Operations and Data Management functional group (circa 6 direct reports). This role will be accountable for the delivery of an efficient, quality clinical operations service to agreed timelines, specifically monitoring and site management activities across the CDD portfolio of clinical trials.
It is an exciting time for CDD as we're expanding our teams to move forward with an ambitious new strategy to maximise the impact of our research to benefit patients. Several teams are hiring new roles to make this new strategy a reality, expanding the size of our project portfolio and bringing in new skills as we work more internationally. As a Clinical Operations Manager, an element of this role will be overseeing a CRO managing sites across multiple European countries, so any experience with this will be beneficial but isn't essential.
