About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to join our client's dynamic Digital team, contributing to delivering a seamless digital experience across the organisation.

Responsibilities: In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape our technical strategies for digital product development, implementation, and maintenance. Collaborating within cross-functional teams in a hybrid working model, your key duties will include:

  • Managing and deploying crucial systems with a focus on automation, user-friendly configuration, minimising errors, repeatability, and security.
  • Creating and managing automated cloud pipelines.
  • Using monitoring tools to assess service performance.
  • Applying infrastructure-as-code principles to deliver scalable, predictable, and automated solutions.
  • Enabling development teams to effectively build and deliver software solutions.
  • Advocating for automated, resilient, and secure development processes.
  • Addressing and resolving anomalies and contributing to broader investigative efforts as required.
  • Providing support and collaboration with engineering teams on cutting-edge technologies.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation for system support.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions on the Azure platform.
  • Proficiency in monitoring services to ensure optimal performance and stability.
  • Capability to deploy various Azure resources, such as IaaS, PaaS, and serverless solutions.
  • Familiarity with the Hub-Spoke architectural model.
  • Expertise in cloud orchestration tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes.
  • Experience in developing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Solid analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and sound judgement.

Desirable Skills:

  • Background in Linux system administration.
  • Understanding of networking concepts.
  • Knowledge of HAProxy.
  • Experience with Eventstore.
  • Familiarity with databases like MySQL/MariaDB/Galera.
  • Experience working with Redis.
  • Knowledge of vSphere/VMWare platforms.
