An exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC setter/programmer/operator to join a successful turned parts company in North Devon.

  • Job Title: CNC Machinist
  • Job Type: Full Time; Permanent
  • Location: Barnstaple
  • Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Thursday (4 day week)
  • Salary: £15 to £16 an hour based on experience


Essential Responsibilities for the CNC Machinist role:

  • Set & Operate CNC machine to specific programme as per part number and work instruction sheet via DNC link (direct numerical control) on computer
  • Load tooling as appropriate into CNC machine
  • Check accuracy of parts using appropriate measurement tools
  • Take corrective action to rectify errors by offset adjustment on CNC machine
  • Knowledge and application of lean principles/tools/5 S/seven wastes, participating in Kaizen events
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable working on different machines and assisting colleagues as required.
  • Maintain TPM on machines
  • Ensure manufacturing



Essential Requirements:

  • Apprentice trained in Setting and Programming CNC Turning machines in a precision environment
  • Have an eye for detail and a methodical organised approach
  • Have a proven track record of work and experience
  • Previous machining experience is essential
