CNC Miller / Machinist required for a global manufacturer based in Sheffield. As a CNC Miller / Machinist you safely produce machined components to the production plan, required quality and within the planned production time. This is a heavy industry type sector so experience with larger components would be advantageous.

Shift pattern:

Working a 4 day week with hours as follows

Week 1: (Mornings) Monday - Thursday: 06:00 – 15:15

Week 2: (Afternoons) Monday - Thursday: 15:15 – 00:30

Duties of a CNC Miller / Machinist

  • To load / unload machines in the correct order and orientation
  • Ensure correct grade of material is used for each job
  • Calculate lengths of material for each job to maximise material usage
  • Select correct programs in line with the process sheet
  • Inspection of components to check standards and specifications
  • Record material usage, including any scrap
  • Return good spare material to store

Skills and Experience required:

  • Previous experience should include CNC manufacturing industry, preferably in a medium to heavy environment
  • CNC Operator / Machinist experience, ideally with some programming knowledge
  • Awareness of safety legislation and quality procedures
