CNC Setter/Operator

Location: Whitstable

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £26,200 - £31,200 + Shift allowance

We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator to join our client’s Machine Shop team in Whitstable. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from bar stock for their internal assembly flow lines, ensuring the highest quality and timely delivery.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small to medium size batches of work efficiently.
  • Inspecting work against engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects.
  • Conducting daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks on machines, maintaining good housekeeping standards, and adhering to 5S requirements.
  • Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus monitoring tool life.
  • De-burring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of all traceability documentation.
  • Performing other duties as reasonably requested by management.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths Grade C or above, or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of operating CNC machine tools, with experience of CNC lathes with a minimum of 4 axis.
  • Experience of reading and editing Fanuc based programs.
  • Competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings and able to inspect work using a range of measurement equipment.
