Position Summary

The Cocoa Operator will manage the end-to-end logistics and operational processes for the company's cocoa trading activities. This role involves coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, and maintaining efficient communication with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of the cocoa supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics Management:

    • Coordinate and manage the logistics of cocoa shipments from origin to destination, including booking freight, arranging transportation, and handling documentation.
    • Ensure timely and accurate execution of shipping schedules.
    • Monitor and track shipments, resolving any issues that arise during transit.
  • Contract Execution:

    • Oversee the fulfillment of cocoa contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
    • Prepare and manage all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
    • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and third-party service providers to ensure smooth contract execution.
  • Inventory Management:

    • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and deliveries.
    • Coordinate with warehousing facilities to manage storage and handling of cocoa.
    • Conduct regular inventory reconciliations and report discrepancies.
  • Compliance and Quality Control:

    • Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure product standards are met.
    • Handle claims and quality issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Communication and Coordination:

    • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
    • Provide regular updates on shipment status and resolve any operational issues.
    • Support the trading team with operational insights and data.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within the agricultural commodities sector.
    • Experience in cocoa trading operations is highly desirable.
  • Skills:

    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
