College Support / Security Officer

Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Working hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm, with a late shifts every 4-5 weeks (11am - 9pm)

Weekly hours and Pay:

Full time - 37.5 hours per week, £12 p/h

Duration: Temporary - permanent

Stafflex are looking for a security officer to work at an Educational Institution in Huddersfield. As a Security Officer you will have to interact with teenagers of various backgrounds and understand reasons and causes of certain behaviours. This is an ideal opportunity for somebody from the youth support industry looking to gain a long-term career. You will be operating CCTV, have awareness of health and Safety and know how to cope in a conflict situation.

  • Monitor the control room (monitoring of CCTV)
  • Follow appropriate safeguarding processes and procedures
  • Assist in all security related tasks; evacuating of building, navigating of people to correct departments, assisting with the access to and from the building etc…

Advantageous skills:

  • Security work experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience working within a customer focused environment
  • Experience working within care
  • Experience in the education industry
  • Knowledge of monitoring CCTV systems
  • An up-to-date, enhanced DBS certificate uploaded on the online update system is required for this role.

All suitable applicants MUST have relevant training or experience working in the support industry for youth / vulnerable adults if not the educational setting. And have or be willing to gain an enhanced child and adult DBS as this role will require you to deal with the needs / behaviours of various complexities and age groups.
