Role: Commercial and Events Assistant

Location: The Haberdashers School, Elstree, Hertfordshire, WD6 3AF

Overview

Are you ready to take charge of dynamic commercial activities within a vibrant school environment?

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Commercial and Events Assistant to join our team and help with the delivery of our Schools’ Co-Commercial Strategy. This pivotal role reports directly to the Commercial Manager and offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage the operational aspects of our commercial lettings and events.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of commercial lettings and events, including sporting activities and filming shoots. Your responsibilities will encompass day-to-day operations, customer service excellence, and collaboration with various internal departments to guarantee successful outcomes for commercial partners and hirers.

Person Specification

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Relevant experience working in a sports and leisure facility.
  • Experience of dealing with chemicals, COSSH and Riddor training.
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety working practices.
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (desirable).
  • Pool Plant Operations (desirable but training available if required).
  • First Aid Qualified (desirable but training available if required).

Personal Attributes

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to liaise with commercial hirers, external visitors, staff and pupils.
  • A professional, adaptable, and proactive attitude.
  • Prepared to undertake training and development, as required.
  • Ability to work flexible shift patterns outside of school hours and including weekends.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that the cleanliness and maintenance standards of the facilities are adhered to.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing demands of a school environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to provide visitors a friendly and professional welcome.
