Job Title: Commercial Underwriter

Location: Tunbridge Wells (Hybrid: 3 days from home, 2 days in office after training)

Role Purpose:

Join our clients growing Underwriting team as a Commercial Underwriter. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in Commercial insurance from a Broking or Insurers environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite insurance risks and negotiate rates, terms, and conditions for both new and existing business.
• Handle claims and oversee premium collection.
• Deliver compliant and exceptional service to all Partner Brokers and clients.
• Expand existing business and develop new business opportunities in line with business plans.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to meet personal and team targets.
• Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations (e.g., FCA).

About You:

To excel in this role, you should have:

• At least 2 years of experience in the Commercial Insurance industry, ideally with expertise in Delegated Authority or Schemes.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or a commitment to achieving them.
• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to provide expert advice.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with an outstanding telephone manner.
• The ability to build and maintain working relationships.
• A genuine passion for learning and development within the insurance sector.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ideally, experience with Acturis.
