Nigel Wright is delighted to be working exclusively with a global engineering business in the recruitment of a commercial manager to join their team at an exciting time, with significant growth and product development as a key focus.  The role will be based from the site near Newcastle, whilst there is scope for some hybrid working, candidates will need to be based within commutable distance of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced commercial manager to join a globally recognised company,  you’ll be a pivotal member of a compact, high-impact commercial team.

Reporting into the commercial director, you will work closely with a global customer base, within a stringently regulated industry, offering robust support across a spectrum of commercial functions including Contracts, Bidding, Exports, Imports, and Security activities.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Commercial lead for product enquiries, including management of all commercial aspects relating to the receipt, preparation and response of these enquiries.
  • Negotiating and drafting of contract terms and conditions.
  • Developing and managing customer framework agreements.
  • Management of contract acceptance activities.
  • Work closely with the nominated bid manager to lead on all commercial issues associated with generation of proposals.
  • Ensure that all legal and compliance requirements are met.
  • Establish excellent relationships with commercial contacts within a global customer base.
  • Dispensing strategic risk and commercial counsel throughout the bidding and project phases

Experience
We’re seeking a Commercial Manager with:
  • Proven experience in commercial management, preferably in the engineering field.
  • Knowledge of import regulations in a regulated setting.
  • Experience with government or military contracts is a plus.
  • Skilled in crafting and executing sound commercial proposals.
  • Proficient in contract negotiation and management.
  • Independent decision-making with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for building internal and external relationships.
