Position: Community Fundraiser for the West Region
Location: Milton Keynes (Office-based/Hybrid)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Reports to: Community Development Manager
Direct Reports: None
Overview: Join one of the UK’s most innovative medical research fundraising charities as a Community Fundraiser. Based in Milton Keynes, you will be instrumental in achieving the charity’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and grow income through community fundraising activities to meet a regional target of £1.4 million.
- Raise awareness by engaging with the community, recruiting and supporting fundraisers, and managing partnerships.
- Build and sustain a strong supporter base with excellent stewardship.
- Collaborate with various departments such as PR, Research, Policy, and Innovation.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong communication skills, with empathy and sensitivity towards the public.
- Proactive, independent, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Experience in community fundraising, donor management, and meeting financial targets.
- Familiarity with CRM databases, Charity Law, GDPR, and the Fundraising Regulator.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
- Excellent time management and listening skills.
Main Duties:
- Maintain and develop relationships with current and new supporters.
- Provide fundraising advice and guidance, promoting best practices.
- Share impact stories and updates to engage supporters.
- Work collaboratively with the fundraising team and other departments.
- Keep the CRM database updated with supporter information.
- Occasionally travel to Cardiff/Bristol for regional meetings.
