Complex Needs Support

Summer Term Start

The Role:

• Providing complex care and educational support for children from early years to 19 across a range of classes and needs.
• Supporting a range of learning needs, such as Autism, Aspergers, Down Syndrome and other complex disabilities.
• Assisting with personal care, hygiene support, peg feeding and other medical care requirements.
• Working along side other support staff, the class teacher and intervention teams to help all learners access their educational and health care plans.
• Helping manage behaviour across the class and setting, dealing with challenging behaviour, implement behaviour management strategies and calming crisis situations.
• Helping school focus on developing life skills, entry level learning and independent life skills across a range of learners.

The ideal candidate:

• Previous experience supporting complex learning, physical and medical needs.
• Comfortable assisting with personal care, hygiene and medical support.
• Flexible and happy to work across a range of different classes, age groups and needs.
• Experience in Special Needs settings or adult support services.
