Computer Science Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Greenwich
Start Date: Immediate or September 2024
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: Dependent on experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Computer Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team. This full-time, long-term position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' learning experiences. The successful candidate will work closely with the Computer Science department, supporting both teachers and students to achieve academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Computer Science teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students to enhance their understanding of computer science concepts.
  • Help prepare teaching materials and resources for lessons.
  • Support students with coursework, projects, and exam preparation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative teaching strategies and classroom activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of computer lab equipment and software.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science principles and programming languages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred but not required.
  • A DBS on the update service is mandatory.
