Computing/IT Lecturer

  • Salary: £25-40 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Computing/IT Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, ensuring student retention and achievement. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Computing and ICT, who is passionate about education and student success.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Participate in student recruitment activities, including open evenings, providing accurate information and guidance.
  • Interview potential applicants and contribute to the college’s interviewing schedules.
  • Design and implement effective induction programmes for new students.
  • Act as a named tutor where appropriate, monitoring student attendance and academic progress.
  • Provide students with support and guidance, referring to learning support services as needed.
  • Teach BTEC Computing and ICT at Level 3, preparing engaging schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Utilise IT and learning technologies to enhance curriculum delivery.
  • Assess student progress regularly, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Prepare students for employability, career progression, and further education.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by the college.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Computing/IT.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience in teaching BTEC Computing and ICT at Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in IT and learning technologies.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student-centred learning and continuous professional development.

Not looking for teaching roles?
