Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Contracts Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing contracts within our water and utilities division, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Oversee all aspects of contract administration, including negotiation, execution, and compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Project Planning: Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects meet or exceed quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring proactive measures are in place to address any issues that arise.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor project finances, including cost control, invoicing, and profitability analysis.
  • Health & Safety: Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management, preparing detailed reports on project progress, performance, and any significant issues.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in a contracts management role within the civil engineering sector, specifically in water and utilities projects.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Proficient in project management software and tools.
    • In-depth knowledge of contract law and industry regulations.
    • Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCS Card, SMSTS) are highly desirable.
