• Salary: £13.00 per hour, depending on experience
• Location: Co Antrim
• Job Type: Part-time (3 days a week)

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join a prestigious nursing home team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about providing high-quality, nutritious meals to residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met. You will be leading the catering function within the home, working within budgets and adhering to Food Hygiene legislation.

Day to Day of the role:

• Design rotating menus with the input of nutritional professionals and considering residents’ preferences.
• Serve meals timely and ensure they are high quality and appetizing, including regular and pureed meals.
• Liaise with Nursing Staff to ensure dietary needs are consistently met and discuss these needs directly with residents.
• Manage food ordering and kitchen budgeting effectively.
• Supervise Kitchen Assistants, including rota management, leave approvals, and annual appraisals.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper table setting in the dining area.
• Train other kitchen staff as needed.
• Keep accurate records in line with health and environmental guidelines.
• Uphold the home’s policies and procedures and attend mandatory training.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in a similar role within healthcare or hospitality.
• Knowledge of nutritional requirements and menu planning.
• Familiarity with food safety guidelines and health regulations.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent personal hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standards.
• Competency in maintaining HACCP and food hygiene documentation.
