Copywriter - Banking & Mortgages

Handle Recruitment is seeking a Copywriter with banking/financial services experience, mortgages ideal, to work with a world recognised bank.

*This will be on a six month fixed term contract initially. Salary up to £60k pro rata*

Working as part of our writing team and alongside product owners, legal teams and broader departments, you'll take a lead role in the review and development of operational and service communications - primarily email, letters, text messages and app notifications, but possibly web and app journeys. With the aim of developing a world-class customer experience for a specific product set, you'll be the voice of good writing, content thinking and brand ToV.

As the Copywriter your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and writing letters, emails, text messages and app notifications all related to a specific financial product set
• Joining and leading workshops to review and approve copy
• Advocating for customers, working with stakeholders to balance their needs against commercial goals and regulatory responsibilities.
• Getting to grips with the brand and TOV guide, and applying them in everything you work on
• Managing your own workload and diary, communicating with stakeholders to set priorities and deliver work on time
• Working with stakeholders to use financial regulations to improve the customer experience rather than hinder it.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience of writing copy in a regulated industry or business is preferable - ideally financial services/banking/mortgages
• Demonstrable background in writing in a non-marketing context
• Experience editing the work of other writers and working in agile product development teams
• Experience working directly with stakeholders from various teams, managing their feedback and resolving challenges
• Strong understanding of branding, TOV, content strategy and experience working with other teams in an agile environment
• Ability to pitch and back up ideas and explain reasoning
