Job purpose:

Cost accountant ensures the financial stability, efficiency, and strategic direction of the company, supporting its overall mission and goals. This role is integral to the organisation's success, providing the financial expertise and leadership needed to navigate complex financial landscapes and drive long-term growth. The role is also accountable for providing HR and Payroll administration support to the factory.

Responsibilities:

  • As a member of the LMT (Local Management Team) be involved with the management of the business to ensure that all targets and objectives are met.
  • Prepare financial reporting in a timely and accurate manner in line with Group requirements to include monthly management accounts, and Ad Hoc reports.
  • Preparation of monthly reporting presentation for senior management
  • In depth analysis of variances in production including waste , efficiency and costs. Paying particular attention to overhead recovery and consumption
  • Analysis and reporting of expenses and variations to budget and forecast
  • Accounting for Inventory, including monitoring of inventory management, stock counts, valuation and sale ability
  • Support the year-end audit process
  • Product costing including machine / labour and material costs to ensure correct COS within the business
  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts in conjunction with the CEO and with assistance from the UK Finance Team
  • Provide HR administration support including compilation of payroll input, compilation of contracts of employment, presenting monthly new starter induction.

You

  • Qualified accountant CIMA / ACCA or qualified by experience.
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment
  • You have a 'can do' approach.
  • Proactive and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Ability to add insight into financial data and optimise the use of financial reporting
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and other database management tools
  • Experience of leading and developing a team
