Course Team Leader: ESOL Young Learners
  • Full-time: 36 hours per week
  • Location: Hayes
  • Salary: £38,035 - £44,969 per annum

We are seeking a Course Team Leader for ESOL Young Learners to join our School of English Language Teaching, Learning Support, and Foundation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching across a range of ESOL programmes and effectively managing the curriculum, particularly for Pre-Entry, E1, and E2 Young Learner courses.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Organise and develop the curriculum and make the best use of team resources, including staffing and consumables.
  • Participate in open evenings and recruitment activities, providing accurate information and guidance to potential applicants.
  • Carry out student inductions, produce course handbooks, and conduct academic progress reviews.
  • Act as a named tutor where appropriate and ensure students receive effective learning support.
  • Teach on full and part-time ESOL/EFL courses, prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and resource materials.
  • Assess students’ progress regularly and integrate the delivery and assessment of Functional Skills into the curriculum.
  • Attend team meetings, keep records up-to-date, and participate in the College’s staff appraisal and mentoring schemes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • An English Language Teaching qualification (CELTA, DELTA, Dip TESOL, or MA ELT).
  • Full teaching qualification (minimum Level 5) recognised by the FE sector (PGCE/DET or equivalent) or willingness to work towards this, supported by the College.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of recent initiatives in ESOL/EFL and successful English Language teaching experience.
  • Some curriculum coordination/leadership experience and good administrative skills.
  • Awareness of the needs of young learners settling in the UK and experience of team working and leading a team.
