My client a reputable law firm based in Preston, known for their commitment to providing exceptional legal services to their clients. With a strong focus on the Court of Protection practice area, handle a diverse range of cases involving vulnerable individuals and their best interests. I am seeking a skilled and dedicated Court of Protection Solicitor to join a team in a unique and exciting role. As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the rights and interests of individuals who lack mental capacity to make decisions for themselves. Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a caseload of Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications, statutory wills, and lasting powers of attorney.
  • Advising clients on matters relating to mental capacity, best interests, and deprivation of liberty safeguards.
  • Representing clients in Court of Protection proceedings and attending hearings.
  • Collaborating with other legal professionals, healthcare providers, and support networks to ensure comprehensive client support.
  • Providing expert legal advice and guidance to clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases.
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation and relevant case law, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Court of Protection work.
  • Experience in handling Court of Protection cases independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal matters clearly and concisely to clients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client care and maintaining high ethical standards.
