A Good Secondary School based in Redbridge, is looking for an experienced Cover Manager (Arbor) to join their team from September 2024.

This large Community school located in the borough of Redbridge, are looking to recruit a Cover Manager (Arbor) to join their team from September 2024. The Senior Leadership Team have the highest expectations and ambitions for every student. The school have recently completed their rebuild and the facilities available are fantastic.

The Senior Leadership Team are very supportive of their staff and are always trying to better there expertise. Having been graded Good in their last Ofsted, it was stated that "Leaders and their staff work together to maintain high expectations of all pupils. This leads to pupils good behaviour and positive relationships."

The school is located with walking distance from London Overground Stations and has parking available.

Cover Manager:

Here lies the opportunity to join a great school as the Cover Manager (Arbor). The role is to start in September and will be for the autumn term in the first instance with the view to continue. The successful candidate will be required to carry our all aspects of the role relating to the Arbor systems. You will liaise with the Network Manager on systems in place in the school, and will work in liaison with the Assistant Head Teacher responsible for the school timetable. The responsibility of the implementation of relevant Census's through the year will lie with you, as will implementing End of Year and New Year procedures. You will also be responsible for the training of all staff on all Arbor software, and assisting the Assistant Head Teacher in implementing changes in the new timetables. You will also manage all daily cover needs, allocating cover lessons, contacting agencies, and supporting cover teachers to set up for cover lessons.

Responsibilities:

  • To work/support SLT regarding timetabling - timetable for the new academic year
  • To implement timetable changes throughout the year
  • To implement End of Year and the New Year procedures, liaise with 6th form team and set up Applica and enrol 6th form students
  • Ensuring student groups, timetables, options are set up and inputted for all years for new Academic Year including 6th form
  • To maintain the Student database, Academic Management timetables and Pastoral Structure throughout academic year
  • To attend any relevant courses
  • To complete annually 4 x Census/Workforce Census returns & liaise with LBR, Head Teacher and any other members of staff regarding their completion including 6th form Learning Aims
  • To oversee alongside the Assistant Headteacher the Management, planning, executing and delivery of Cover on a daily basis
  • To Liaise with various outside agencies as appropriate
  • To provide training to Support Administrative and Teaching Staff on appropriate software
  • To be a trained First Aider
  • To undertake any training applicable to the role, as directed by the school
  • To review and develop your own professional practice, including taking part in annual performance review

The role is to start from in September and will be for the autumn term in the first instance.

To be considered for this Arbor and Cover Manager role you must have, but not be exclusive to:

  • Have experience of working within a school.
  • Have a high standard of written and spoken English.
  • Be computer literate and have experience of working within an MIS (Preferable Arbor).
  • Have the ability to work to deadlines, be organised and prioritise work tasks as required.
  • To be a positive and collaborative team player.
  • To have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with people of all levels, both internally and externally.
