Teach 195 are looking to recruit various education enthusiasts that are seeking a Cover Supervisor role within the Nottinghamshire area.

The Secondary Schools that we are in partnership with, have large demand and are in need of Cover Supervisors to cover and deliver the lessons throughout the school day. 

Whether you are looking to begin your career in the education sector and gain a very valuable skills set and experience or you may be someone who is looking to get back into that classroom and thrive.. Well, if this is the case then this role as a Cover Supervisor is the role for you!

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver and lead the lessons that have been prepared by the absent teacher. You will need to ensure the students stay on track and complete the work that has been set. You must also comply with the school's behaviour policy and act accordingly and follow this. This role requires flexibility and the ability to manage a classroom effectively. We are looking for someone who has a desire to make a positive impact on a student's learning journey. 

Your responsibilities as a Cover Supervisor will include:

  • Managing a classroom and ensuring that all students are on track with the work set.
  • Ensuring that if there is a seating plan that all students are in the correct seat, with the correct equipment ready to give their all to the lesson.
  • Providing assistance and support to students in the classroom.
  • Following the lesson plan.
  • Managing the behaviour of the classroom, adhering to the school's behaviour policy and acting accordingly. 
  • Fostering the creativity trait and encouraging students to participate and engage in the lesson.
  • Being adaptable to the school's needs.
  • Building up good rapport with all members of staff.
  • Complying with all policies including safeguarding, behaviour and many more.
  • Being a positive role model to all students at all times.
  • Collecting all completed work upon completion and giving that to the appropriate person.
  • Reporting any good or bad feedback to the correct person of any incidents/behavioural difficulties.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have extensive knowledge about Cover Supervising and the duties. 
  • Have strong communication skills and be clear when instructing students to complete tasks to reduce confusion.
  • Abide and comply with the school policies.
  • Have great classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Maintain flexibility to work with different age groups and different class sizes.
  • Be punctual and have perfect timekeeping skills.
  • Be willing to go the extra mile.
  • Create a positive learning environment.
