Accelerate Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a dynamic secondary school in Kirklees. This role is pivotal in ensuring continuity of learning for students when their regular teacher is unavailable. If you have experience in a similar role and are ready to inspire and support the next generation, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring that students remain on task and follow the lesson plans provided.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, creating a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Support students with their learning activities, offering guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to understand the needs of different classes and adapt to various subjects and age groups.
  • Provide feedback to the regular classroom teachers about student performance and any issues that arise.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a cover supervisor role or similar educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain order and discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • A genuine interest in education and a desire to support student development.
