SEN Cover Supervisor

This is role is ideal for someone who has experience helping pupils with a range of complex learning difficulties and disabilities. This role is a great fit for someone who takes pride in unlocking every child's potential and growth to encourage independence.

A dedicated school based in Crawley are looking for a Cover Supervisor who is positive, dynamic and enthusiastic, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality teaching, ensuring the effective delivery of the school's curriculum.

Responsibilities of working as an SEN Cover Supervisor:

  • Supervise classes during the absence of regular teachers.
  • Ensure that students are engaged in the learning activities provided by the absent teacher.
  • Adapt to the individual needs of the students learning struggles and provide support and guidance.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Take attendance and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to the relevant staff members.
  • Support the administration and smooth operation of the school as required.
  • Assist with other duties related to student supervision and support as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience of an SEN Cover Supervisor:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Experience working within SEN school students, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
