Cover Supervisor
  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Location: Surrey and West Sussex
  • Salary: Competitive (Surrey PS6 Scale)

We are seeking a proactive and responsible Cover Supervisor to ensure the smooth running of classes during teacher absences. This role is crucial in maintaining the continuity of education and providing support across various departments within the school.

Day to day of the role:

  • Supervise students and ensure that set work is completed in line with lesson plans.
  • Conduct morning registration and manage the orderly entry and departure of students.
  • Uphold and implement the school’s Behaviour for Learning policy to foster a constructive learning environment.
  • Provide constructive feedback to teachers or subject leaders on covered lessons.
  • Deliver administrative and learning support to designated departments when cover supervision is not required.
  • Invigilate exams and assist with school trips and visits as necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Competence in managing classroom behaviour and engaging students.
  • Strong communication skills for delivering lesson content and instructions.
  • Good organisational skills for effective classroom management.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different subjects and student year groups.
  • A commitment to upholding the school’s values and policies, particularly regarding safeguarding and child welfare.
  • A willingness to engage in professional development and contribute to the school community.
