We are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our team on a flexible supply basis. This role is ideal for experienced cover supervisors, recent graduates considering a teaching career, or individuals seeking classroom experience in secondary schools. As a Cover Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the educational environment with the flexibility to work according to your schedule.

• Supervising classes in the absence of the permanent teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged.
• Providing assistance to students when needed, without actively teaching the curriculum.
• Implementing the school’s behaviour management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Adapting to different classes and subjects throughout the day, typically spending one lesson with each group of students.
• Working across various schools in West Sussex, with the potential for regular supply work during busy periods.

• Experience as a Cover Supervisor is advantageous but not essential.
• For graduates, a degree in any discipline, demonstrating your capability to work in an educational setting.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to follow school policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and students.
• A proactive and flexible approach to daily tasks.
