Job Title: Senior Credit Controller (Permanent)

Location: Oxford 

Salary: £32,000 - £38,000

I am currently partnered with a renowned Biotech industry located in Oxford. In order to support the continued growth of the business, they are now recruiting for a detail-oriented Credit Controller supervisor to join their finance team.

is seeking a seasoned and proactive Senior Credit Controller to oversee and manage its accounts receivable operations. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in credit control, superior communication skills, and the ability to maintain and build positive relationships with customers while enforcing credit terms effectively

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accounts receivable ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Conduct thorough credit checks and assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
  • Set, review, and manage credit limits based on comprehensive risk assessments and company policies.
  • Implement and refine credit control procedures to optimize the collection process.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts and develop effective collection strategies.
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers, ensuring adherence to agreed terms.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all credit control activities and customer communications.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable status and overdue accounts to senior management.
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve complex customer queries and disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Mentor and support junior credit control staff, providing guidance and training as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Credit Controller or in a similar senior credit control role.
  • In-depth understanding of credit control processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency in credit control software and financial systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional qualifications such as CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) are advantageous.
