My professional services client has been at the forefront of their specialised sector for many years and leads through innovation and customer reputation. They’re presently building upon several years of healthy growth and expanding operations, meaning that new resources have to be added to the team and that staff are being offered professional growth.

They currently have an opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join their expanding team. Reporting directly to the Accounts Manager, this individual will be part of a team of 3 in Credit Control and be a pivotal member of that team. You will have a varied position with a mix of B2C and B2B clients and autonomy over your client base.

Role overview:

  • Maintain professional relationships with all clients whilst ensuring the timely collection of debts.
  • Collect monies due.
  • Monitor receipts in accordance with agreed terms and allocate cash.
  • Discuss individual debtors with the Accounts Manager, Senior Credit Controller and/or relevant internal staff as appropriate and agree next steps.
  • Contact clients to identify and resolve problems/answer queries, primarily by telephone and secondly by e-mail.
  • Ensure system updates and record keeping is clear and comprehensive so that it can be viewed by other team members as required.
  • Work with internal staff to ensure no further work is done for delinquent debtors.
  • Set up new clients by performing initial credit checks, account opening on the CRM and Collect systems, establishing credit limits and risk markers, liaising with colleagues as appropriate, distribution of T&Cs.
  • Maintain client records following credit agency updates.
  • Liaise with clients who have credit balances to discuss refunds where appropriate.
  • Ensure that all correspondence is filed in a timely manner.

This is a client who really look after their staff and offer a healthy annual bonus, good holiday allowance, hybrid and flexi-working (35 hr week with core hours 10-4 but office open between 7.30-6), and a highly attractive contemporary office with sea views. In addition, their close-knit team of long-standing standing finance staff work in a highly supportive and collaborative way, making it an enjoyable office environment.
