Credit Controller
Location: Aston, Birmingham
Salary: Up to £29,000

Our client, a leading company in their sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Credit Controller to join their dynamic team based in Aston. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £29,000 and provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the company's financial health and stability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Allocating Cash: Allocate cash to customer accounts and invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Credit Assessment: Assess new and existing customers' credit ratings using a credit agency to determine appropriate credit limits up to £25,000.
  • Debt Collection: Collect overdue customer accounts with minimal supervision using telephone, email, and liaising with Sales Managers.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile customer accounts, address customer queries, and issue necessary credit notes.
  • Monthly Statements: Oversee the production and delivery of monthly statements.
  • Order Review: Review the suspended order list for orders on hold due to credit limits.
  • Debt Management: Collaborate with the line manager and colleagues to manage the debtors ledger.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively improve methods and processes for debt collection.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate payment plans and establish terms and conditions for customers as needed.
  • Legal Proceedings: Initiate legal proceedings for customers who fail to pay their debts on time.
  • Team Support: Support other members of the finance team as needed.
  • Health and Safety: Comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Ad-hoc Duties: Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience in credit control or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using credit rating tools and financial software.
  • Knowledge of legal procedures related to debt collection.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
