Part-time Customer Service Officer

Part time: 3 days per week

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £28K pro rata

The main duties include:

  • Engaging with customers via phone, email, secure messaging, and post, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Managing customer queries-identifying needs, resolving issues, and ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Opening & maintaining accounts-handling transactions, payments, and account updates with accuracy.
  • Supporting online banking users-assisting customers in navigating our digital platform.
  • Handling complaints with care-resolving concerns professionally or escalating when necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance-working closely with internal teams to uphold regulatory standards.

Essential skills and Experience required:

  • Customer service experience-ideally within banking, retail, or financial services.
  • Strong communication skills-both written and verbal, with an excellent telephone manner.
  • Attention to detail-you're meticulous, organised, and thorough.
  • Tech-savviness-comfortable with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital platforms.
  • Problem-solving mindset-you take initiative and think on your feet to support customers effectively.

Desirable skills:


Banking or financial services experience (especially in Savings).
Knowledge of Consumer Duty, GDPR, or Data Protection regulations.
