Customer Solutions Design Specialist

About this role

As a customer solutions design specialist in our client's UK Secure Design practice, you will work with defence customers and support internal business units and third-party technology providers. You will create end-to-end Unified Communication and Collaboration technical designs, ensuring business requirements are translated into deliverable solutions. You will be part of a team working on highly sensitive and unique projects.

Responsibilities

  • Capture and translate customer technical requirements into solution designs.
  • Recommend and determine the optimum solution design for customers.
  • Manage review and validation processes for new developments and in-life products.
  • Improve design and delivery capabilities for technical solutions.
  • Manage customer solution design engagement and statement of work creation.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and influence service strategy.
  • Drive consistency in architecture and technical processes.
  • Plan and implement customer migration.
  • Resolve complex solution and service issues.
  • Identify risks and implement controls and mitigations.
  • Provide thought leadership in complex bids.
  • Mentor other customer solution designers.
  • Share knowledge on emerging trends in customer solution design.

Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in unified communication technology architecture (PBX, VoIP, SIP, video conferencing, enterprise mobility, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Experience with telecommunication vendor technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Ericsson, Nokia, F5, Palo Alto).
  • Hands-on experience in designing and commissioning unified communication technologies.
  • Professional training/accreditations (Cisco, Ribbon, Blackberry, VMware, Avaya, Atos).
  • Commercial awareness for CAPEX/OPEX costings.
  • Experience in risk identification, mitigation, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate complex technologies to stakeholders.
  • Experience in highly sensitive government environments.
  • Knowledge of HMG MoD compliance and security policies.
  • Self-starter with minimal support needed.
