Customs Brokerage Supervisor- Freight

I am recruiting for an experienced Customs Brokerage Supervisor to join a well established freight forwarder based in the Dewsbury, West Yorkshire area. You MUST have previous Customs experience.

Daily duties will include:

• Manage the day to day operational activities of the Customs department.
• Monitoring customs team- holiday/ sickness cover
• To develop working relationships clients and all departments
• Monitor and review our Duty/VAT exposure and ensuring goods are not released without payment or alternative agreed payment terms.
• Training new members of staff
• Respond to customer and operational enquiries quickly and effectively.
• To visits to customers when requested
• Assist with, where appropriate, external customs visits/audits.
• Ensure that customs guarantees are maintained at the correct level.
• To motivate the team
• Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

Experience needed:

• Senior/ supervisory experience within a similar role
• PC literate
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Working hours:

• Monday - Friday 0900am - 1730pm (1 day in the office)
