The Company

Become a Data & Engineering Platform Manager at one of UK's leading publishers who have a global presence. Part of a larger media group, their brands deliver highly engaging, trusted content to millions of loyal customers around the globe. Their brands reach over 24 million people daily, reaching over 10 million daily readers across the UK.

As a vital member of the highly ambitious data and technology team you'll play an important role in making sure the business has the data they need to drive relentless online traffic growth.

You will evolve the brand's Big Data Platform and advance its overall data proposition. The successful candidate will work closely with and be responsible for coaching the Data Engineering Team to design and build data pipelines, data streams, data service APIs, data generators and other end-user information portals and insight tools - to be used across the group.

The Job

• Excellent time to join and be part of the ambitious initiative to double the size and capability of their data teams
• You will be working as part of a Data Technology Team responsible for a brand-new cutting-edge data platform based upon Microsoft Azure and Databricks Lakehouse technologies.
• Assist in the creation of data products with a commercial and editorial focus - that have a direct impact on the performance of the business
• Plan, build and implement data solutions based on Azure/DataBricks
• Management of data processing, data cleansing and ETLs
• Create the complete Data Ecosystem on the current platform.
• Provide apt solutions for Data Governance.
• Maintain all the components of Data platform to its functional capability

You

• Strong proficiency with the Azure and Databricks techstack
• Strong experience across data engineering and data architecture
• Great experience in data platform management and delivering data solutions
• Experience with GCP or AWS would be ideal
• Degree level educated
