Data Cabling Engineer - data cabling projects in retail stores

Looking for an experienced Field Engineer who can install and fault find on data cabling Cat 6 / 7.

This role is to mostly cover projects across the Oxfordshire area.

The client specialises in projects for retailers from single-man jobs like adding additional infrastructure for new systems / devices in stores, to full new store opening projects for supermarkets.

This is a full-time PAYE permanent job, basic salary of £31000 with paid holiday, pension, private health etc.

Standard contract covers 40 hours per week, all additional hours, including travel time, is paid as overtime.

They provide tools, uniform, PPE, Phone, and an expensed (including personal usage) company van.
Accommodation and meals provided if staying away.

Main duties:

  • Cable routing
  • Installation, termination & testing of Category 5e, 6 & 6a including containment - PVC trunking, conduit, galvanised conduit, and tray work
  • Installation & termination of Comms cabinets
  • Installation, termination and testing of fibre optic cables
  • Installation of EPOS systems

To apply you must:

  • Have previous internal data cabling experience.
  • Hold a full manual UK drivers’ licence (max 6 penalty points).
  • Have a clean DBS (criminal records check).
  • Be flexible to travel including occasional overnight stays.
  • Be willing to work flexibly including evenings, nights and weekends if required.

Any transferrable useful tickets like: CSCS / ECS cards, IPAF, PASMA tickets would be great, although training can be given.
