Our client, a prestigious global law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join their dynamic team. Role Overview:

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the firm’s data architecture. You will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless data integration and support data-driven decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in a professional services environment, preferably within the legal, accounting, or audit sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems.
  • Design and implement robust data architectures and models.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across various platforms.
  • Optimise data workflows and improve data access and usability.

  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and implement effective resolutions.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a professional services environment (legal, accounting, audit, or similar).
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Expertise in ETL processes and tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance in a professional services context.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts.
