Job title:              Data Governance Analyst

Location:             Remote (with occasional travel to Bolton head office)

Salary:                Up to £48,000 depending on experience

Hours:                 9-5 Monday-Friday

Contract:             6-month FTC

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Governance Analyst

About the role:

The Data Access and Governance Consultant will be instrumental in ensuring seamless data accessibility, eliminating obstacles to data acquisition, and managing relationships with stakeholders and suppliers on a 6-month contract basis. This role focuses on process mapping, project management, and coordinating efforts across various departments to secure and maintain the necessary data sets for Business Intelligence (BI) purposes.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Data Access Facilitation:

  • Identify and remove barriers to accessing critical data sets.
  • Ensure a streamlined resolution process for data access issues.

2. Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as a liaison between IT, stakeholders, and suppliers to negotiate and resolve data access issues.
  • Maintain clear communication channels and manage expectations effectively.

3. Data Governance:

  • Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
  • Define Data ownership, classification and quality metrics
  • Ensure data quality and integrity across all data sets.

4. Supplier Coordination:

  • Evaluate and recommend alternative solutions if a supplier cannot deliver the required data.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure data delivery meets organizational needs.

5. Process Mapping and Improvement:

  • Map current data access processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement changes to streamline data acquisition and integration.

6. Project Management:

  • Lead projects aimed at improving data access and governance.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones to ensure timely delivery of data solution

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Ability to effectively manage and coordinate multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in process mapping and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • BA in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is a plus.
  • Experience with BI tools and data management software.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
