Title: Senior / Mid Level Data Scientists /Data Engineer

Location: Bristol

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Range: £50,000 - £80,000 per year

Our client, a leading organisation in the reinsurance industry, is seeking talented and experienced Mid-Level Data Scientists /Data Engineers to join their team in Bristol. As a key player in the development and operations of their automated ingestion system, you will contribute to the enhancement of their data processing and analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Automated Ingestion System Development: Design, develop, and maintain efficient, scalable, and reliable data ingestion pipelines.

- ML Component Integration: Integrate advanced machine learning components into data pipelines to optimise data processing and analysis.

- Data Quality and Metrics: Implement data quality metrics and dashboards to ensure the integrity and accuracy of ingested data.

- Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and other team members in a multifunctional agile development team to meet project goals.

- Innovation: Utilise modern NLP techniques to improve data understanding and processing, staying updated with the latest developments in data science and engineering.

Qualifications:

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience developing complex data ingestion pipelines with sophisticated ML components. Prior experience in the insurance sector is advantageous.

- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, PySpark, and Databricks. Demonstrated experience with modern NLP techniques and tools. Proven ability to create and manage data quality metrics and dashboards. Experience working in a multifunctional agile development team. Proficiency in using Git for version control.

- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the insurance sector and its data challenges is highly desirable.

- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a collaborative spirit.
