Lead Database Engineer – Permanent - £100,000 -£120,000 + Bonus & Benefits & Growth Opportunity

I am working with a growing data company in the global crypto economy. They are looking to bring in a Lead Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize scalable database solutions that power our applications and services.

You'll be working at the forefront of Blockchain and crypto and be part of an innovative and mission driven company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient database solutions
  • Optimise database performance, security, and availability
  • Work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions
  • Implement best practices for database architecture, monitoring, and backup/recovery
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging cloud database technologies

What They're Looking For:

  • Extensive experience in database engineering, with a proven track record in large-scale databases
  • Expertise in PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and optimization
  • Cloud database experience (preferably GCP or AWS)
  • Strong DevOps knowledge (Terraform, automation, scripting)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Knowledge of database security and compliance standards

Extra's

  • Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes experience
  • Cloud certification (AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer)
  • Experience with Python, Bash, or automation tools
