Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operational Datacentre Infrastructure Manager to join our team. As the Datacentre Infrastructure Manager, your primary responsibility will be to plan, organize, and manage the Operational staff in the technology space to ensure the stable operation of our Gallagher IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimising key functional areas, specifically in VMWare, Server, Virtualization, and Data Centre Hosting.

In this role, you will schedule and oversee activities to resolve escalated hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate manner. You must be an expert in the specified disciplines and have previous management or team lead experience. As the local/in-region subject matter expert (SME) and point of escalation for Gallagher UK and EMEA regions, you will lead Datacentre initiatives/projects and collaborate with stakeholders to improve the Global Datacentre Architecture.


How you'll make an impact

  • Plan, organize, and manage the Operational staff in the technology space.
  • Ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure in accordance with global standards.
  • Develop, maintain, support, and optimize key functional areas, including VMWare, Server, Virtualization, and Data Centre Hosting.
  • Schedule and oversee activities to resolve escalated hardware and software problems.
  • Serve as the local/in-region SME and point of escalation for GGB-EMEA.
  • Lead Datacentre initiatives/projects to improve the Global Datacentre Architecture.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements in the datacentre environment.

About You

  • Extensive experience in VMWare, Server, Virtualization, and Data Centre Hosting.
  • Proven management or team lead experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of global datacentre standards and best practices.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., VMWare Certified Professional) will be an advantage.
