Deep Hole Borer Machinist
Elevation Recruitment Group’s skilled shop floor division are currently recruiting the role of a Deep Hole Borer to work for a leading steel forging business in Sheffield.
Salary: £39,019.50
Working hours:
The role is based on a 3 shift pattern, 37.5h per week:
Mornings 6am – 1pm
Afternoons 1pm – 8pm
Nights 8pm – 6am
Duties of a Deep Hole Borer will include:
- Deep hole boring of various size components to customer requirements.
- General machining (Milling, Turning & Boring).
- Completing quality documentation to a high standard.
- Slinging and the manoeuvring of large components to facilitate machining operations.
- Working to 6S principles to keep productivity high.
I am keen to speak with people that have the following skills and experience:
- Apprenticeship trained or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experienced in large scale deep hole boring and either turning or milling.
- Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings.
- Crane driving and slinging.
- Full understanding of Health & Safety and the ability to work safely in a heavy engineering environment.
- Ability to understand and follow CNC programs.
