Position Summary
As the Depot Manager, you will be responsible for the operational performance and efficiency of a high performance team at our Depot in Shepton Mallet, Somerset
The principle Manager responsible for the effective return to service of our Fleet of Diesel Locomotives
To be responsible for the direct/indirect management of circa 16 staff across the Depot
Provide visible, approachable and exceptional leadership and management
To ensure that cost controls are adhered to and deliver targeted profit growth in line with business plans
Manage people and assets to deliver / exceed service expectations
To drive and continuously improve a safe and healthy working environment for all colleagues through management & observation of site compliance, health & safety rules & practices
Person Profile/Experience:
A proven Manager, you should be able to evidence effective leadership of a motivated workforce, whilst leading and coaching your direct reports.
Recognise and develop talent, championing inclusion within the workforce
Operating as a key leader in the business, leading by example in terms of business values and behaviour
Cost management is imperative in an ever changing market and running the Depot is no different, you will be expected to manage the commercial budget for the Depot, including the cost to deliver and transpose this to your colleagues and Senior Management Team through the provision of clear, transparent and accurate reporting of engineering activity
Key Criteria:
HNC or greater
Commercially astute
Proven People Manager Skills
Sound knowledge of Health & Safety
Flexible
Excellent work ethic
Good sense of humour
