Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Nursing Officer to oversee the nursing staff and ensure the highest standards of patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities and a commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chief Nursing Officer in managing and supervising nursing staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve patient care and nursing practices.
  • Coordinate patient care activities and ensure effective communication among healthcare team members.
  • Oversee the maintenance of patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the department budget and resources efficiently.
  • Provide direct patient care when necessary and serve as a clinical resource for the nursing staff.
  • Address patient and family concerns and ensure their satisfaction with the care provided.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare team members and other departments.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Imperative that all candidates are Western trained.

Skills and Professional Experience:

  • Proficiency in using healthcare software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide mentorship and support to nursing staff.
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in nursing and healthcare management.
  • Active participation in or have co-led a PI project or initiative required.
  • Preferably have participation in accreditation (JCI, CBAHI, similar) as a leader.
  • Preferably have MAGNET Journey experience or accreditation.

  • Salary: Competitive, tax-free salary up to £112,000.
  • Housing: Generous housing allowance of up to £15,000 if you chose not to take the hospital accommodation

  • Repatriation: Flight paid for caregiver and eligible dependants at the conclusion of the assignment.
  • End of Service Benefit: Payable upon completion of one or more years of service, calculated as one-month basic salary for each year of service.
