Deputy Home Manager
Location: Lowestoft, Norfolk
Salary: £50,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits
Hours: Mon to Fri, 9-5 - but must have a degree of flexibility as there is an expectation you may need to cover at weekends.

Time Recruitment is searching for a Registered Nurse with prior experience as a Senior Nurse or Deputy Home Manager to work at our clients gorgeous seaside Nursing Home. Focused on Complex care this site offers the best in nursing care all in a luxurious environment!

This Home also boasts a 'good' CQC rating in all five categories!

The Home currently has 63 residents split into Residential and Nursing Care. Two of the three units are Nurse Led with the final unit being led by a Team Leader and a team of carers. The Home employs around 14 nurses with more than 100 staff in total to care for their residents with complex care. For the nurses, the home works on a 20:1 ratio.

Please note: this home has limited dementia care, there are only a few residents with mild dementia.

You should have:
- A valid NMC Pin (can either be an RGN or RMN)
- Experience in a senior nurse or deputy manager position
- Experience in clinical governance
- Good working knowledge of CQC standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership skills

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Care Home Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the facility.
* Provide leadership and direction to care home staff, including care assistants, nurses, and support workers.
* Step in for the Manager in their absence and take on delegated responsibilities.
* Ensure that high-quality care and support are provided to residents in accordance with their individual care plans.
* Monitor the well-being of residents, assess their needs, and adjust care plans as necessary.
* Promote a person-centered approach to care, respecting residents' choices and preferences.
* Supervise, train, and mentor care home staff to ensure they are competent and adhere to best practices.
* Conduct performance appraisals, identify training needs, and assist in staff development.
* Responsible for reporting to the safeguard team incidents or concerns related to safeguarding adults.
* Act as a point of contact for staff, residents, and external parties regarding safeguarding matters especially in absent
of Home Manager as a nominated lead safeguard person.
* Must have ability to identify abuse and report to the safeguard adult followed by the company policies and LA
policies.
* Ensure that the care home complies with all relevant regulations, including health and safety, infection control, and
safeguarding.
* Maintain effective communication with residents, their families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
* Ensure staff are trained in emergency procedures and that equipment is maintained.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to resident care, staff training, and regulatory compliance.
* Promote a positive and respectful work environment.
* Oversee the safe administration and management of medications for residents as per prescribed protocols.
* Stay updated on developments in the field of healthcare and attend relevant training programs.
* Encourage residents to participate in social activities and maintain a sense of community within the care home.
