Deputy SENCo
We are excited to offer an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious, creative, and innovative individual to join an Academy as Deputy SENDCO in a secondary school. The Academy is home to a significantly higher number of students with EHCPs, encompassing a wide variety of additional educational needs. Additionally, from September 2024, they are introducing a Nurturing Provision designed to support a select group of students as they transition into secondary school.
The Role
As Deputy SENDCO you will blend teaching responsibilities with additional duties tailored to support to students' diverse learning needs. The school are seeking a passionate individual to join their remarkable team. You'll find both challenges and rewards in equal measure, within a school environment deeply committed to safeguarding, where student voices are valued, respected, and integrated into decision-making processes whenever possible.
The Ideal Candidate
You'll need prior experience in SEN, a related degree, teaching certification, and extra qualifications in SEN. Great teaching skills are a must, along with the right attitude, personal qualities, and resilience. Flexibility, handling pressure well, and adjusting to the changing needs of students, families, and the school are also vital.
The goal is to provide outstanding education and transformative opportunities for all students. You must aspire to be renowned for academic excellence and for equipping pupils with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in education, employment, and life beyond.
