Rate: £100.00 per hour

Job Overview:

Our client, a market-leading and forward-thinking community healthcare services provider, is seeking a skilled Dermatology GPwER to join their team in Swindon. This provider is committed to supporting both primary and secondary care services, ensuring the seamless delivery of Dermatology services to patients referred from GP services and NHS Trusts.

Key Responsibilities (Medical and Nursing):

  • Clinical Care: Provide high-quality clinical care to adult patients attending the community Dermatology service, managing both new and follow-up cases.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Treat non-two-week wait lesions and general dermatological conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema.
  • Patient Assessment: Examine, assess, and diagnose patients presenting with various dermatological conditions.
  • Medical History & Diagnostics: Obtain comprehensive patient medical histories, conduct physical examinations, and order necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on accurate diagnoses and individual patient needs.
  • Medication & Therapy: Prescribe medications, recommend therapies, and provide interventions to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.
  • Minor Procedures: Perform or refer in-house for minor procedures, such as cryotherapy and intralesional steroid injections.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and preventive measures, including lifestyle modifications and self-care practices.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including minor surgery clinicians and general practitioners, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Multidisciplinary Meetings: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and outcomes.

Educational Requirements:

  • Medical Degree: A recognized Medical Degree (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent).
  • General Medical Council (GMC) Registration: Full registration with the GMC in the UK, with a license to practice.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Dermatology Diploma: A postgraduate qualification in Dermatology, such as a Diploma in Dermatology or equivalent.
  • Membership in Relevant Professional Bodies: Membership in relevant professional bodies, such as the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) or Primary Care Dermatology Society (PCDS), though not always mandatory, can be advantageous.
