Design Engineer

£30,000 - £35,000 (dependent on capabilities & experience)

Metalis are working alongside a leading automotive manufacturer who are looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join the team. This is one of the UKs leading OEM parts manufacturers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use of Catia V5 to design new and improve existing designs.
  • Working with new and old customers to qualify designs.
  • Generation of BOMs to pass onto the purchasing team.
  • Arranging of prototyping parts to bring concepts to creation.
  • Ensure measurement data is accurate and checked by peers.
  • Creation of Jigs and Fixtures for the manufacturing process.
  • Creation of GD&T Designs.
  • Working with the project management team to deliver designs on time.
  • Working well within the team supporting the wider business when needed.

Experience Required

  • 5+ Years experience in CAD role.
  • Previous experience working within the Automotive industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with BS8888 & ASME14
  • Continuous improvement experience using LEAN Principles.
  • A HND Or similar engineering qualification.
  • Able to pick up computer systems quickly.
  • A clear communicator.

Shifts & Salary:

  • £30,000 - £35,000
  • Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:00pm
  • Daventry
  • Permanent Opportunity
