Design Engineer - Mechanical

Introductory Paragraph:

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Mechanical Project Design Engineer to join our client's team based in the beautiful town of Chippenham, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will have experience working on projects within the automotive industry with knowledge of FMEA, 3D CAD design software, PDM systems and BS8888 standards.

Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Project Design Engineer at our company you'll be responsible for overseeing product designs from conception through production stages. Your main duties include but not limited to;

- Developing detailed mechanical drawings using GD&T
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Quality Assurance (QA), Manufacturing Engineering etc.

Qualifications & Skills:
To qualify for this role we require candidates who possess;

Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent qualification

Experience designing complex mechanical components

Ability to utilize 3D CAD modelling tools

Familiarity with Product Data Management Systems

Expertise Knowledgeable about British Standards Institution's technical drawing specifications -BS8888

Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing(GDT) principles
