Role – Design Engineer position
Location – Based close to Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday –Full time hours – 45 hours per week
Capacity of role – Permanent position
Salary – £30,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience
Our client is a leading manufacturer in their product range and they are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join their busy drawing office within a permanent based role.
Main duties will include -
To take a lead role in the concept and design of production tooling that meets the needs of the production department.
To provide project leadership that includes management of timeline and resources.
Generation and maintenance of project documentation to include but not limited to, detail drawings, spare parts lists, Instruction of use literature.
Generation of regular project update reports.
Create and develop tooling using tool room / workshop based machinery.
To develop product test methods, data analysis and evaluation to determine or prove design performance and reliability.
To function within all quality systems and regulations
Occasional UK & International travel will be required to satisfy the needs of various projects.
To attend relevant training courses.
Candidate attributes -
Experience in using a range of tool room / work shop based machinery.
Experience in using a 3D CAD software package such as Solid works
A University Degree qualification in either Mechanical Engineering or Product Design or time served in a similar role.
Disciplined, self-motivated and be able to work as both an individual and as part of a team.
Confident and comfortable with providing both verbal and written updates to senior management so a working knowledge of Microsoft office programs and ADOBE creative programs will also be essential
